Billerud is seeking an experienced legal executive to join the Group as EVP Legal & General Counsel.

As EVP Legal & General Counsel, you will lead Billerud's global Legal, Compliance & IP function and serve as a trusted adviser to the CEO, Board of Directors and Group Management Team. Combining business partnership with independent judgement, you will play a key role in supporting the company on matters of governance, risk and long-term value creation 

Leading an experienced team, you will help ensure that Billerud continues to operate with strong governance, sound judgement and the highest standards of integrity across its international business. 
 
Who you are 
You are a legal leader with strong commercial judgement and the ability to operate confidently in senior executive and board environments. You are recognized for your integrity, balanced risk assessment and ability to provide clear and objective advice, even in complex situations. 

You may already hold a General Counsel position in a listed company, or you may come from a senior legal leadership role in a larger international organization where you have worked closely with executive management and boards. 

• A Swedish or equivalent law degree. 
  
  
• Extensive senior legal experience from a law firm, an international business environment, or a combination of both. 
  
  
• Strong expertise in corporate law, governance, securities regulation, M&A, commercial legal matters and compliance. 
  
  
• Significant experience advising executive management teams, boards of directors and senior business leaders. 
  
  
• Leadership experience, including developing high-performing teams and managing complex legal matters across jurisdictions. 
  
  
• A solid understanding of Swedish and EU corporate governance and listed company requirements. 
  
  
• Excellent communication skills in both Swedish and English.
