Position Summary:
The Maintenance Team Leader is responsible for providing daily leadership to the maintenance crew and coordinating maintenance activities while advocating safety, implementing Manufacturing Work Systems (MWS) and promoting precision maintenance practices to improve mill safety and reliability. This role involves planning and executing maintenance schedules, managing repairs, communicating effectively, and implementing preventive maintenance programs to minimize downtime and maximize productivity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, and mentor a team of maintenance technicians, providing guidance, and training.
- Provide daily safety focus and presence from a leadership role.
- Ensure that all maintenance activities are conducted in accordance with mill and company safety policies and precision maintenance practices.
- Manage performance/behavioral issues at the “Early Intervention” stage and contribute to member performance reviews.
- Develop and implement maintenance schedules and procedures to enhance team efficiency and ensure mill reliability.
- Be the first line of defense against break-in work and disruption to the team’s daily schedule.
- Implement best practices and continuous improvement initiatives to optimize maintenance operations, safety, and reliability.
- Maintain detailed documentation of maintenance activities, including work orders, service reports, and precision documentation.
- Communicate effectively with management and other departments regarding maintenance activities and issues.
- Work in the field when appropriate.
- Filling Supervisor and Planner vacancies.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
