We are now looking for a Vice President Wood Supply, who will take overall responsibility for our European wood supply and play a crucial role in securing the fiber availability that underpins Billerud’s long‑term success.

About the role

As Vice President Wood Supply, you hold strategic, tactical, and operational responsibility for Billerud’s European wood supply. You ensure long‑term availability of pulpwood, wood chips and biofuels—at the right quality, cost, and sustainability level.

 

You will lead and develop a sizeable organization across several countries, establish efficient ways of working, drive partnerships and create a strong safety culture. This role is central to strengthening Billerud’s competitiveness, supporting our climate ambitions and leading transformation in a complex and evolving supply market.

 

Key responsibilities

  • Develop strategies that secure the long-term supply of wood in Europe at optimized cost.
  • Hold group‑wide responsibility for pulpwood, wood chips, biofuels and timber exchange transactions.
  • Build strong supplier partnerships and expand business with private forest owners.
  • Set the strategic direction for Wood Supply Europe in alignment with Billerud’s overall business strategy.
  • Drive development of processes, ways of working, follow‑up and reporting with focus on efficiency and cost optimization.
  • Ensure organizational capabilities match operational needs and maintain a safe working environment.
  • Ensure compliance with sustainability standards, Supplier Code of Conduct and Billerud’s Science‑Based Targets.
  • Contribute to the development of Billerud’s European Management Team
  • Contribute to the development of Billerud’s European business strategy
  • Inspire, motivate and coach leaders and teams.
  • Develop competencies and foster a culture of engagement and strong safety—both physical and psychosocial.

Qualifications

To succeed in this position, we believe you have:

  • University degree in business, supply chain management, forestry or similar.
  • 7–10 years of leadership experience within wood supply or a comparable field.
  • At least 10 years of increasing responsibility in relevant areas.
  • Strong track record in change management and transformation.
  • Commercial and financial acumen.
  • Experienced negotiator with knowledge of contract laws

 

Meritorious: forestry IT systems, FSC/PEFC certification knowledge.
Excellent proficiency in English and Swedish.
