Summary Description:

The Vice President of Finance is responsible for the finance function in the North American region and           will support a $1.5bn business with full profit & loss and balance sheet responsibility. Reporting to Group CFO, the VP Finance acts as a strategic partner to the President North America and business leadership team. The role is responsible for driving profitable growth, capital allocation, business performance and strategic decision-making across the region. The successful candidate combines strong business acumen with intellectual curiosity, continuously seeking to understand underlying performance drivers, uncover emerging risks and opportunities, and translate insights into actions that improve business results.





Profile

Key Accountabilities:

Strategic Leadership & Business Insights

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to the President North America and North America Leadership Team on strategy, growth opportunities, capital allocation and business performance.
  • Proactively identify risks, opportunities, performance gaps and emerging business trends, translating financial and operational data into actionable business insights.
  • Provide leadership/support in identifying, modeling, analyzing, and developing business case for potential M&A targets. Provide deal support should opportunities advance.
  • Provide executive sponsorship and strategic oversight of the FP&A and performance management processes, ensure plans, forecasts and KPIs support strategic priorities and accountability.
  • Lead performance reviews with the regional leadership team and ensure resources are allocated to the highest-value opportunities.
  • Challenge assumptions, influence decision-making and drive fact-based discussions that improve business performance and long-term value creation.
  • Foster a culture of curiosity, constructive challenge and fact-based decision making by continuously investigating underlying business drivers, identifying emerging risks and opportunities, and ensuring insights are translated into tangible actions.

Regional CFO & Financial Stewardship

  • Regional CFO for North America.
  • Full P&L and balance sheet responsibility.
  • Responsible for financial stewardship, governance, controls and compliance.
  • Responsible for statutory, audit and risk management activities.

 

Finance Organization Leadership

  • Organizational responsibility for the North America finance organization.
  • Build and develop a high-performing finance and accounting team.
  • Lead finance transformation and capability development.

 

Financial Performance & Value Creation

  • Drive performance management in North America.
  • Ensure effective planning, forecasting, reporting and closing processes through the finance leadership team.
  • Lead capital allocation and investment governance.
  • Drive initiatives to improve profitability, cash flow and returns on invested capital.

Required Experience and Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting (Master’s, CPA preferred)
  • Results-based leadership style
  • Communication proficiency – demonstrated ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization – strong impact and influencing skills a must.
  • Proven track record of driving business performance through strategic insight, performance management and the ability to identify risks, opportunities and emerging trends
  • Strong collaborative problem solving skills.
  • Proficient knowledge of US GAAP and/or IFRS
  • Experience in diverse work environments. Exposure to collective-bargaining agreements and represented workforce(s) a plus.
  • A track record of building strong, effective finance and accounting teams, along with the ability to attract and retain talented finance professionals.
  • Demonstrated change management execution experience.
  • Strong presentation and facilitation skills.
  • Ability to define and implement strategic initiatives.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
  • Proficient to advance skills with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

Travel:  Frequent travel to North America operations and occasional travel to Global headquarters in Stockholm, Sweden
