Summary Description:

The transportation coordinator is the mill liaison to our transportation providers. They are a critical part of the team in solving day to day freight issues as well as responsible for long term equipment planning needs. Successful applicant must be customer-oriented and have the ability to remain focused in a fast paced dynamic manufacturing environment.



 

Profile

Key Accountabilities:

  • Proficient in SAP, OptiVision and Mercury Gate operating systems
  • Financial integrity daily (invoicing, in transit checks) – Solves issues daily
  • Month end railcar revenue recognition (accrual)
  • In transit without proper Release (daily)
  • Maintain cycle count report and accuracy (quarterly)
  • Reconciling at all offsite warehouses
  • Understanding how all Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) function and communicate
  • Have an understanding of Hazard Recognition and Safe operations in a department that has a very high exposure to PIT operations.
  • Railcar supply, billing discrepancy, overweight’s, etc.
  • Liaison with transportation providers, AR’s – status with orders and load center reps
  • Finished goods audit requests and onsite visits both internal and external
  • Organize downgraded broke materials and communicate with Sales team and outside warehouses
  • Have an understanding of Hazard Recognition & Safe Operations in the department that has a very high exposure to PIT operations.
  • Month end closing reports for inventory, WIP, in transit and onsite
  • Coordinate & execute load audits rail/truck monthly
  • Handle shipment errors
  • Handle roll returns and virtual shipments
  • Manage pulp to and from all warehouses
  • Assists outside warehouses trouble shooting OptiVision issues
  • Manage NPGX fleet – 35 cars
  • Understand and direct load patterns for both rail and truck
  • Assist A/R’s with roll discrepancies
  • Functions as the Backup load planner
  • Supervises a team of ~5 team members

Required Experience and Education:

Minimum Required Experience and Education:

  • Associate’s degree
  • 1-2 Years Business Experience in Transportation, Logistics, Distribution, or Planning and Scheduling
    • Grade level dependent upon years of experience and demonstrated knowledge, skills, and behaviors.

Travel: Negotiable

Required skills:

Minimum Required Skills:

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite is required
  • Demonstrate leadership, high stress tolerance, ability to actively participate on a high-performance team and an enthusiasm for change are a must

Preferred Skills:

  • Knowledge of the transportation industry and Supply Chain strategies
  • Ability to learn quickly, adapt to new environment, prioritize and multi-task
  • Ability to manage stress levels in a positive manor
  • Knowledge of SAP and prior WMS experience
