We are now looking for a Director, IT Governance, Strategy & Transformation

As Director, IT Governance, Strategy & Transformation, you will be a senior leader in Billerud's global IT organization, driving governance, strategic execution, portfolio management, enterprise architecture, advanced analytics, AI capability development, performance management, and continuous improvement.


Reporting to the Chief Information Officer and serving as a member of the IT Management Team, you will act as a primary partner for governance, planning, operating model evolution, and transformation execution. You will help ensure IT investments, resources, processes, and capabilities are aligned with business priorities and deliver measurable value.


The role leads key strategic functions across IT, including enterprise architecture, portfolio and PMO, information and process governance, and advanced analytics. Placement is flexible, with preference for one of our locations in the US or Sweden, and the role requires regional and international travel as needed.


 
Your main tasks will be: 

  • Strategy Planning & Execution: Facilitate global IT strategy planning, translate priorities into actionable roadmaps, and provide executive reporting and insights.
  • Governance, Performance & Transformation: Lead IT governance frameworks, decision-making processes, KPIs, scorecards, management cadence to improve transparency and accountability, and drive IT operating model improvements.
  • Portfolio & Value Realization: Lead portfolio governance and prioritization, aligning investments with business priorities, architecture direction, resource capacity, benefits realization, and risk management.
  • Architecture, Information & Process Governance: Ensure architecture governance, technology roadmaps, data, information, and process governance support future-state business and technology capabilities.
  • Advanced Analytics, AI & Transformation: Mature the Advanced Analytics and AI operating model, identify high-value use cases with business leaders.

Qualifications

To succeed in this position, we believe you have:

  • College or university degree in Information Technology, Engineering, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • 10+ years of progressive IT leadership experience in IT strategy, governance, enterprise architecture, portfolio management, advanced analytics, or transformation.
  • Demonstrated success leading enterprise-wide change and transformation initiatives in a global organization.
  • Strong understanding of IT operating models, governance frameworks, portfolio management, financial management, and value realization.
  • Experience working with senior business and technology leaders, including the ability to influence without direct authority.
  • Experience with international assignments or positions is meritorious.
  • As our corporate language is English, fluency in English, both written and verbal, is required.
